Frequently asked questions
Working With Tempo.
What restaurant owners usually ask before the first conversation: how we work, what it costs and how to get started.
What does Tempo Hospitality Group do?
Tempo is a restaurant growth agency that brings finance, operations, technology, marketing and brand together. We help restaurant owners understand what is holding the business back, identify the right next move and put the people, systems and work behind it.
What types of restaurants does Tempo work with?
We work with independent restaurants, multi-unit restaurant groups and emerging franchises. Some need help with a specific challenge, such as profitability or Restaurant365. Others need a partner who can connect several parts of the business as they grow.
Do we need to know which service we need before contacting Tempo?
No. Tell us what is happening in the business and what you would like to improve. We’ll help identify where to start and which expertise belongs in the conversation.
Can we hire Tempo for one specific project?
Yes. You can start with a defined need, such as Restaurant365 implementation, brand development or expansion planning. We consider how that work connects to the rest of the business so the solution supports what happens beyond the project.
Does Tempo offer ongoing support?
Yes. Depending on your needs, ongoing support can include fractional financial leadership, Controller services, Restaurant365 support and marketing leadership. The scope depends on the work, the responsibilities involved and the support your team needs.
Can Tempo work alongside our existing accountant, managers or marketing team?
Yes. We can work alongside your current team, bringing expertise or capacity where it is needed. Establishing clear responsibilities is part of the engagement so everyone understands who owns the work and how decisions get made.
Do you work with other restaurant management software?
Yes. We work with platforms including MarginEdge, Opsi, 7shifts and more. We start by understanding the systems you already use, what is working and where the gaps are. That may mean getting more from your current setup, connecting tools more effectively or helping you move to a new platform. The goal is to make the technology work for your restaurant, your team and your next stage of growth.
Does Tempo provide advice, implementation or both?
Both. We help identify the problem and develop a practical plan, then support implementation within the agreed scope. That may mean configuring systems, building financial models, improving operating processes or creating brand and marketing materials.
What if we are busy but still not making enough money?
That is a good reason to start a conversation. Strong sales can hide problems with labor, purchasing, pricing, menu contribution, overhead or financial visibility. We look at how those factors work together to understand where profit is being lost and which changes deserve attention first.
Can Tempo help us open another location?
Yes. We help assess whether the business is ready to expand and what needs to be strengthened before it does. That can include unit economics, capital requirements, operating systems, management capacity, technology and brand consistency.
How much does it cost to work with Tempo?
Pricing depends on the scope and complexity of the work. Factors can include the number of locations, the condition of existing systems and information, the level of support required and the length of the engagement. We clarify the scope and fees before work begins.
How long does an engagement take?
The timeline depends on the problem, the deliverables and the level of involvement required from both teams. A focused project has different requirements from an ongoing leadership role or a system implementation. We establish the expected schedule, responsibilities and dependencies as part of defining the engagement.
How do we get started?
Use our Let’s Talk Growth form, email maria@tempohg.com or call 952-522-9590. Share a little about the restaurant, what you are working through and what you would like to accomplish. You do not need a polished brief or a diagnosis—we can work through that together.
